Defining, Conceptualizing, and Measuring Organizational Resilience: A Multiple Case Study

Organizational resilience is an important means of coping with crises. This concept has received much attention within both academia and industry. However, research on the definition measurement organizational still in exploratory stage. To date, studies have yielded mixed conclusions, which makes it difficult to provide specific recommendations for paper uses case study approach explore process among six highly resilient companies: Southwest Airlines, Apple, Microsoft, Starbucks, Kyocera, Lego. We employed grounded theory distill main characteristics resilience, validate its structural dimensions, develop a scale resilience. Further, we conducted reliability validity analysis, factor validation analysis 526 valid data collected. Results show that includes five dimensions: capital strategic cultural relationship learning The good validity, better reflects notion bridges gaps existing literature scales, provides foundation future research.
